Last night, the three of us were in bed watching Kid's Baking Championship. It has become a nightly tradition to watch one episode before bed. As I laid there, sandwiched between both kids, I realized how these 40 minutes have become one of my favorite parts of the day. I turned to them and said, "Will you remember this?" Tyler said, "What do you mean?" I asked him if he thought he would remember us watching baking every night. I asked him if he thought one day, he would be watching it with his kids and say: "I use to do this with my mom!" He quickly said "Yes!" I hope this is true. There are so many things that I wonder if you will remember.
Will you remember me screaming from the soccer sidelines or looking at you dance through a window.?
Will you remember the endless songs we sing or playing "Know or Go" every Sunday morning in bed?
Will you remember colorful pancakes or the Birthday Fairy that decorates the house while you sleep?
Will you remember silly notes in your lunchbox and running at me full force when I pick you up at school?
I hope you do. I hope you both remember how much I love you. I hope you remember that on the best days and on the days where I lose it, I love you just the same. I hope you remember that you are my greatest gifts and I thank God for you a million times a day.
I hope you remember but if you don't, I will remind you. I will remind you that you are my sun, moon, and stars. I will watch you grow and one day tell your kids all that I remember.
